It's a soap opera on steroids. Can't believed she managed to put so many messed up people in one book. Absolutely no one to like or root for. My last book of this series. TO DIE FOR (Eva Rae Thomas Mystery Book 8) by Willow Rose is a fast paced drama that has its fair share of romance and romantic anger woven in. Scott Benton gets up one morning and heads off to work. When he come home, he dis covers that his girlfriend is missing and that he is the prime suspect. With the police hot on his tail, he tries to figure out what could have possibly happened. Then he remembers his girlfriend said that he should come after her if she ever went missing. Desperate for help and answers, Scott turns to Eva Rae. Eva has plenty on her plate with a new baby, her upcoming marriage, and a girl that she is looking out for, so when Scott shows up looking for help she reluctantly goes along with it. From here, we are taken on a wild ride as Eva discovers more about Scott's girlfriend and who may be behind this terrible deed.I have not read all of the books in this series, but I will say I was able to pick up on most of what was going on very quickly. This tells me that you don't necessarily need to read all the books to get the big picture, though it is still probably a good idea. Eva is a troubled protagonist in so many ways. By the end of the book, I almost hated her. She is like that person who is great at their job but causes you nothing but problems and turmoil along the way. I really felt bad for some of the characters who care for her. While this may be a criticism of the character, it is a tribute to the author's ability to make you feel a certain way towards the character. I think fans of thrillers and mysteries will enjoy this read.
