Volume 13 of One Punch Man wraps up Saitama being in the martial arts tournament. We get to know both Choze and Suiryu better and learn why they both practice martial arts. Saitama's response to why they fight is priceless along with his his match against Suiryu. Saitama just keeps trying so hard to keep his wig on the entire time made it a memorable match. Of course it appears that even though the tournament is over we have not seen the last of the martial arts fighters.We also get to see more of the rank A heroes and also learn a little bit about Flashy Flash a rank S hero. Of course it goes without say, that as the heroes continue to gather we also learn more about the Monster Association and their plans. Tornado continues you be a force of nature and continues to belittle every monster and hero that gets in her way. And we also learn more about Atomic Samurai and his fellow swordsmen and their plan on how to deal with Garo.The artwork is crisp and clean with a great sense of motion. Sadly as with all One Punch Man volumes it always feel like it is over to quickly, but you know that's a good thing in that it left me wanting more. As with all previous volumes of One Punch Man a warning to those who are concerned, the fights against some of the monsters do get bloody. So you have been warned. I can't wait to see how the current arc continues to develop. Bad news first -- it's going to be ANOTHER four months, at least -- in other words, Book 14 -- before we find out how the Garo - Watchdog Man confrontation turns out. Neither do we learn what plans the cat-monster has for the prison inmates this issue. I thought about taking a star off for that, but so much else happens here, I let it go. Actually almost half this book is dedicated to the martial arts tournament, including about 86 pages of Saitama vs. Suiryu, ending in ... ha! fakeout! no spoilers here! Outside the tournament, it's heroes against monsters, with yet more heroes we hadn't seen in action before, and some we had, like the fearfully powerful (and irritable) telekinetic Terrible Tornado. (T.T. is S-Class #2; one hero we still haven't even gotten a glimpse of is S-Class #1, Blast -- is he on vacation or something?) Atomic Samurai goes outside the hero network to recruit allies, and learns something startling about the Monster Association's plans. We get a good look at monster Goketsu, who blitzed Genos last issue -- scary! -- and an idea of where the story is heading. Let's say that although the martial arts tournament has officially concluded, the action in the arena is not over. Another great issue of a terrific title by creators who still seem totally engaged and excited about what they're doing.
